Datacom applications below 10G generally fall into one of four categories: Storage (FC, SATA, SASS), Computing (GbE, SATA, PCI Express, Rapid IO), Telecom (OC-12, OC-48, SFI-5, CEI), and Networking (GbE, XAUI, Athens). Many of these rates below 4Gbps are well-served by the commercial market, but data rates between 4-9Gbps are not well served by test equipment manufacturers!
