Sales Engineer
About the position:
Centellax offers an exciting opportunity for a Sales Engineer. This is a key position reporting to the Director of Sales. This person will lead the sales activities in his/her region.
Centellax seeks a results driven sales and/or application support professional with some experience within the high speed communication, optical, high frequency microwave, signal integrity and/or test and measurement industries. An excellent compensation package is being offered to the right candidate in addition to stock options.
Responsibilities:
- Meet Monthly/quarterly booking goals
- Manage all sales activities in the region
- Implement strategy to drive into key competitors accounts and increase market share
- Identify and qualify new accounts
- Find new opportunities within the existing customer base
- Communicate effectively with the in-house product development and product support team to understand tactical plans to close business
- Ensure that customer requirements are clearly captured and communicated back to the development and support teams
- Work closely with Director of Sales to ensure an effective coordination of the tactical sales work in the region and the strategic efforts for key markets, products and/or customers
- Develop presentation materials for effective communication with customers and reps
- Intimately understand Centellax products, their applications, their markets and their competitive position
- Effectively use SalesForce.com, the Customer Relationship Manager used by Centellax, for the purpose of providing company-wide real-time information and communication on sales cycle for each opportunity.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Two years of sales experience and/or application support in the optical communication, high frequency microwave, signal integrity and/or test and instrumentation industry
- The ideal candidate should have had his/her business experience in companies that are in Centellax’s or its customers’ space (Agilent, Anritsu, Tektronix, Lecroy, Gigatronics, Intel, Cisco, etc)
- BS in electrical engineering resulting in the ability to intimately understanding of the issues faced by our existing and prospective customers
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales expectations and/or understanding/solving customers technical challenges
- Identifies, develops and closes opportunities in close consultation with the sales, marketing and engineering groups
- Creative, consulting, ‘team player’ who is a self-starter and customer focused
- Solutions oriented and experienced in working with cross-functional teams
- Very strong communication, proposal writing and presentation skills
- Comfortable with approaching new customers and engaging them from the technical level to the commercial level
- Ability to generate new leads independently through market research and third parties
Location:
The Sales Engineer will be based in the San Jose area (Silicon Valley). Some travel is expected.
